Replacing Teeth With Dentures: What You Should Know

June 22, 2026 · 4 min read

Full denture

Dentures restore chewing, speech and appearance when several or all teeth are missing.

Types of dentures

  • Full dentures for an entire arch
  • Partial dentures that clip to remaining teeth
  • Implant-supported dentures that snap in for extra stability

Getting used to them

Expect a few weeks of adjustment. Start with soft foods cut small, and read aloud to practise speech. Sore spots can be adjusted.

Daily care

Brush dentures daily, soak them overnight, and keep regular checkups — your gums and bone change over time and dentures may need relining.
