A dental implant replaces a tooth root with a small titanium post that supports a crown, bridge, or denture.
Who benefits
- One or more missing teeth
- A tooth that cannot be saved
- Loose dentures that need more stability
What affects candidacy
Healthy gums, enough bone, and good general health help implants succeed. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes raise the risk of problems. Bone grafting can sometimes build up areas that are too thin.
The process
Placement is followed by a few months of healing while bone bonds to the implant, then the final tooth is attached. We coordinate this care and refer to trusted specialists when appropriate.
