Three Simple Ways to Avoid Dental Pain

August 31, 2026 · 3 min read

Nobody plans a toothache. The good news is that a few steady habits prevent most of the problems that cause one.

1. Clean thoroughly every day

Brush twice a day for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste and clean between teeth once daily. Plaque left behind is the root of cavities and gum disease.

2. Keep regular checkups

Cleanings and exams find small issues before they hurt. A tiny cavity becomes a quick filling instead of a root canal.

3. Protect your teeth

Wear a mouthguard for sports, a night guard if you grind, and avoid chewing ice, pens, or hard candy.
